Wellington lies on Route 62, the world's longest wine route, and is linked to Ceres and Worcester by the dramatic and spectacular Bian's Kloof Pass. The town is situated at the foot of the Groenberg, on the banks of the Kromme River with the majestic Hawekwa Mountains on its eastern border. Most of the country's vine nurseries are found in the area, due to its excellent soil and climatic conditions.
